Single vineyard Pinot from the Panorama vineyard in Cradoc, Huon Valley. 
 
A bit of a sentimental site for the fruit here, one I first worked with back in 2016 when it was purchased by Stefano Lubiana. 40 year old vines with a mix of clones planted on grey gravels and silt stone right on the bank of the Huon River. Minimal management and dry grown, these vines are naturally low yielding (approx 3t/ha) resulting in intense flavoured fruit full of vitality.
 
A single second fill barrel was selected from a single ferment to produce this wine. 30% whole bunch with extra time on skins and in barrel to allow tannins to evolve. Classic Huon pinot flavours here with an array of red fruits expressed with great clarity, subtle savoury notes and bramble undertones. A core of crunchy acid and fine silty tannins driving length and persistence. A very distinctive expression of Pinot Noir from this challenging region to cultivate it. Only 25 dozen produced.
